Color questions

Before you book

What is the difference between full and partial color?

Full color takes your chosen shade through all of your hair, and it is $300 on our menu. Partial color, $150, places color through the top and sides, which is perfect for refreshing dimension or blending regrowth between full services. A face frame, $100, brightens the hair around your face for a softer grow-out. Your stylist will recommend the right one for the look and the maintenance you want.

What is a gloss, and who is it for?

A gloss is a sheer, shine-rich color service, $45 on our menu, that refreshes tone, adds glassy shine, and softens the line where your color grows out. It is a favorite between bigger color appointments, and a gentle first step if you are new to color. A gloss pairs beautifully with a blow dry, and your stylist can tell you in one visit whether it is the right refresh for your hair.

How does color correction work?

Color correction is priced at consultation, because no two corrections are alike. At the consultation your stylist studies your hair’s history and condition, talks honestly about what is achievable and in how many visits, and gives you the full price before any color is mixed. Whether it is a home color mishap or a shade from another salon that missed the mark, the plan always comes first.

Can you take me from dark to blonde?

Often yes, and it is some of our favorite work. One of our clients came to Amy to go from brunette to blonde in a single session and left amazed, with hair that was not damaged or brittle, after Amy stayed late to make sure the tone was perfect. Big lightening changes always start with a conversation about your hair’s condition, and we will never promise speed over the health of your hair.
